How it works

No jargon, no mystery. Here is the whole process in the order it happens.

  1. 1

You tell us roughly what you import

Six questions in the estimator. We work out a range from the tariff rates our broker has verified for your countries, month by month across the period the tariffs were collected.

  2. 2

We confirm you were the importer of record

That is the business named on the customs paperwork. It matters more than anything else, because the refund legally belongs to whoever was named there — not to whoever felt the cost. If that was not you, we will tell you straight away.

  3. 3

You sign a power of attorney

A short document that lets our licensed broker act for you with Customs. It has to be signed by an owner or officer of your business — not a forwarder, not an assistant. We keep the signed copy on file.

  4. 4

You get set up with Customs

An ACE Portal account and ACH enrolment, so Customs knows where to send money. We walk you through both with screenshots. Being honest: the account step can take a few weeks on their end. We start everything else in parallel.

  5. 5

We go through your entries one at a time

You upload a report from your ACE account, or your carrier duty invoices. We sort every entry by what is still recoverable and how many days are left before that changes.

  6. 6

Our broker reviews every single one

Software suggests; a licensed customs broker decides. Nothing is filed on a machine’s say-so, and any time we overrule our own suggestion we write down why.

  7. 7

We file, and Customs pays you

Straight into your own bank account. Then we invoice our fee. Government speed is majestic, unhurried, and eventually correct — we will keep you posted the whole way.

Doing it yourself

If your refund is small, paying anyone a percentage of it is a bad deal. We would rather hand you the instructions and have you think well of us.
